On Earth as it is in Heaven

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-10)

There are two kingdoms at work on the earth right now. There is the kingdom, domain, or tyranny of darkness and evil and there is the Kingdom of God. The domain of darkness works through fear and intimidation, control and manipulation. It works through the worship of man or man’s works and elevates human reason, human wisdom, human tradition and self-effort. It is the result of eating the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and of men trying to rule outside of union with God. It guises itself as an angel of light and even can bring a sick satisfaction to the old man also called the flesh.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. (Proverbs 14:12)

The tyranny of darkness came in through the sin of the first man Adam when he chose to believe the serpent (devil) instead of God and he thus subjected mankind and all of creation to the same condemnation and judgement of the devil and the domain of darkness. All of mankind are born into the domain of darkness, also called sin and thus prone to and enslaved to sin and appointed to death and judgement. We can see mankind’s attempt throughout the ages to try and save ourselves from these things that we know to be evil. The only problem is that our own attempts that even seem good and just only bring us deeper into slavery and inflame sin, death, sickness and corruption etc.

But God, because He is rich in compassion and loves the earth and mankind so much sent His only Son Jesus to save all those who believe in Him from the tyranny of darkness!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (John 3:16-18)

It is important to note that Jesus does not condemn but instead rescues those who believe in Him from the condemnation mankind is already under. The bible tells us that because of the one man’s sin it is appointed for man to die once and then comes judgement.

And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, (Hebrews 9:27)

But for those who dare to believe it we are saved from death and from the judgment of the tyranny of darkness.

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.(John 5:24)

God does not force this salvation on anyone, and everyone has the choice to either remain in the tyranny of darkness and the condemnation it is under or to believe in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and come into His beautiful Kingdom full of grace, love, eternal life, joy, peace, hope and every good thing imaginable and every great thing that we cannot even imagine! The domain of darkness is fading away and it’s ultimate end is complete obliteration. The kingdom of heaven will completely and totally cover the entire earth.
